Georgia Governor

There will be no incumbent in the 2026 race for Governor. Current Governor Brian Kemp (Rep) is term-limited and cannot run again. This has led to a wide-open field in both major parties. Enough candidates are running in both parties that we should expect a runoff in both from the May 19th primary; the runoff would occur on June 16th.

The following people have filed to run for Governor as Democrats in the 2026 primary. Links go to campaign websites. A candidate’s name with no link did not have a website when last checked. The “playlist” link below the names takes you to our Committee’s YouTube playlist channel for the Governor’s race.

The Dade County Democratic Committee will not endorse any Democratic candidate in the upcoming 2026 Gubernatorial primary.
